Brian Barnes is BrightSpring Health Services’ chief information officer (CIO). Barnes joined BrightSpring in 2018 from Tenet Health Systems, one of the largest and most well-known diversified health care companies in the U.S. At Tenet, he served as the chief innovation officer and vice president of strategic technology programs.
He has more than 20 years of leadership experience in health care, including driving technology strategy, health care innovations, technology-enabled growth, consumer engagement, analytics, population health, software development and project management.
As CIO for BrightSpring, Barnes will play a vital role in driving technology-led strategy. He will be responsible for strategic direction and leadership for all business system and technology initiatives. Barnes will be a key contributor in the execution of the company’s continued commitment to people, processes and technology strategies – bringing workflow enhancements and greater productivity to the organization.
Barnes holds a doctorate in electrical and computer engineering from Georgia Tech and has a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville, both in engineering.
