BrightSpring Health Services Names New Chief Information Officer

BrightSpring Health Services, one of the nation’s largest home and community-based health services providers to complex populations, announced the addition of Brian Barnes as chief information officer.

Barnes joins BrightSpring from Tenet Health Systems, one of the largest and most well-known diversified healthcare companies in the U.S. At Tenet, he served as the chief innovation officer and vice president of strategic technology programs. He has more than 20 years of leadership experience in health care, including driving technology strategy, health care innovations, technology-enabled growth, consumer engagement, analytics, population health, software development and project management.

As CIO for BrightSpring, Barnes will play a vital role in driving technology-led strategy. He will be responsible for strategic direction and leadership for all business system and technology initiatives. Barnes will be a key contributor in the execution of the company’s continued commitment to people, processes and technology strategies – bringing workflow enhancements and greater productivity to the organization.

Barnes holds a doctorate in electrical and computer engineering from Georgia Tech and has a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville, both in engineering.
