At 22 years old, Hannah Guthrie takes pride in her appearance, her emotions, and how she is perceived by others. She always greets you with a side hug, smile, and her bubbly personality. Hannah is known for her creativity and self-expression through her artwork.
Utilizing her creativity through sketches, paintings, or just blending colors with coloring pencils provides Hannah with a nonverbal platform to express herself and enrich her quality of life. Hannah’s art is often a reflection of her feelings. She uses her artwork to communicate and express her emotions on paper and canvas. She enjoys every stroke of a brush and smudge of the pencil, creating abstract pieces and sketching images of herself and others.
Hannah entered the Kankakee County Training Center’s art contest this past spring and was awarded first place over more than 30 other entries. Her winning submission of “Stitch” was a creation she drew, painted, and added abstract materials onto to provide a 3D appearance.
Hannah says her inspiration to engage in art comes from her family members who are also very artistic. She states that she dives into her art as a way to manage her emotions and escape for the moment. Hannah enthusiastically participates in art classes at the local Bottle & Bottega Art Uncorked studio to explore her talent and enhance her skills.
Hannah has carried her love of Paris and fashion design into her bedroom décor, showcasing her art and love of Paris in what she refers to as her personal masterpiece. Hannah’s career ambition is to apply her love of art and sketching to become a fashion designer. Her life dream is to travel to Paris during Fashion Week and walk the runway as a model in a fashion expo.
We are so proud of you, Hannah! Keep creating and following your dreams!
