Abode Care Partners Nurse Practitioner Katie Lazure has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Springdale, AR.
Katie recently learned of two male residents at the long-term care (LTC) facility where she works who are roommates and have become close friends. They are both recovering alcoholics and members of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), but they had not been able to attend meetings since moving to LTC.
Katie talked to the Activities Director, and they coordinated with the local AA chapter to have someone come to the facility and hold meetings. They also took precautions to make the process discrete, allowing any residents to participate without having attention called to them.
