Adoration Home Health Branch Director Whitney Hatfield has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Lenoir, NC.
At the end of September, Western North Carolina was ravaged by Hurricane Helene. The region was hit hard by high winds and heavy rains, resulting in flooding, downed trees, and power outages. Unfortunately for Whitney and her team, that included multiple counties covered by the Lenoir branch.
The day after Helene hit, a local hospital contacted Whitney to see what type of assistance she and her home health team could provide for their community. Whitney reported to Caldwell Memorial Hospital and was assigned to head their task force supporting patients in the community with needs including wound care, infusion, and oxygen services.
On Monday, the Lenoir team immediately reported to the office and went to work. Clinicians and office staff reviewed each patient on service. They began calling to check on patients who may be without water, food, or supplies. Those who could not be contacted received a drive-by. The team lifted up their community by not only providing home health services, but also daily necessities such as baby wipes and hand sanitizer. The impact of Helene on the state has been devastating, but the readiness and support of the Lenoir team helped to lift their community and return back to their day-to-day.
Whitney, thank you for the Leadership you demonstrated in a time of emergency. Your selfless actions and willingness to help others played a critical role in the immediate aftermath of the hurricane. Your team’s willingness to assist those in need is helping people in your community continue to live their best lives.
WORK SMART. DO GOOD.
