The Way We Lead / May 16, 2024
This Saturday, May 18, we will observe National Speech-Language Pathologist Appreciation Day. Rehab Without Walls (RWW) Speech-Language Pathologist Casey Mask has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Hendersonville, TN.
Casey began her career with RWW a short time ago, bringing with her experience working with populations in long-term care, short-term rehab, and outpatient settings. She recognizes the variety of possible ways to personalize therapies in order to have the highest impact on a patient’s quality of life. With specialized training in Parkinson’s care, swallowing disorders, and cognitive communication, as well as certification in the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) LOUD Program, Casey effectively collaborates with team members to provide both care and encouragement.
A recent patient of Casey’s said, “Her ability to tie together mouth movements and sound taught me how to improve through a method I had not known before. She is the real deal, and it’s obvious that she is here working with me because she wants to, not just because it’s her job. I can see her commitment to me and my recovery, and I know she does the same with all of her patients. She sees that I have value as a person, even as a person with a new disability, in the way that the majority of our society doesn’t.”
Casey, through your positive Attitude, you see the possibilities in each patient. By understanding the importance of a team approach to therapy, you encourage collaborative efforts that can be vital to treatment efficacy. Thank you for helping your team members and patients alike live their best lives.
WORK SMART. DO GOOD.
