Rehab Without Walls (RWW) Physical Therapist Assistant, Sal Galindo, Executive Director Kathy Underwood, Speech Pathologist Janel Schneller, Director of Nursing Laura Vasquez, Lead Therapist Michi Mennecke, Physical Therapist Assistant Melissa Gonzalez, Physical Therapist Jill Dziak, and Occupational Therapy Assistant Robin Magnusson have been Working Smart and Doing Good in Downers Grove, IL.
A patient named Pat arrived at their operation in March 2025 after a life-changing fall a few months earlier. Through his occupational therapy work, Pat was able to become self-sufficient and regain much of his previous function. His physical therapy team expressed pride in his ability to transfer without supervision. Upon his release from RWW’s care, Pat was able to walk out with the use of a HurryCane and could be ambulatory for over 1,700 feet.
Pat said, “The staff helped to change my light and turned it back on providing a sense of family.” He reported that the staff were great teachers and gave him the confidence and peace of mind he needed to be comfortable in the post-acute inpatient facility. Pat appreciated the staff working together as one unit to benefit him.
