Rehab Without Walls (RWW) Social Worker Sanda Kaldor has been Working Smart and Doing Good in San Diego, CA.
Sanda’s recent patient Elizabeth experienced a life-changing car accident in August 2023, causing severe injuries to her abdomen, spine, ribs, and wrist. The impact of the seatbelt also resulted in abdominal trauma and damage to a major artery.
After Elizabeth left the hospital, she started intensive home and community therapy with RWW. Through this program, she received the specialized care needed to regain her independence and rebuild her daily life. Elizabeth was able to find strength in community resources thanks to Sanda, who helped her navigate financial resources while providing emotional assistance.
Since her discharge in 2024, Elizabeth has been able to use a custom wheelchair, drive with adaptive controls, and return to college. She said, “Sanda helped me find resources for financial aid and peer support while listening to my challenges. She also lent an ear so I could express the unique challenges and feelings I had about my new normal.”
Thank you, Sanda. By fostering a people-focused Environment, you helped Elizabeth make connections and feel supported in her community. Your role throughout the recovery process is integral to helping your patients live their best lives.
WORK SMART. DO GOOD.
