As we continue to observe Care Workers Recognition Month, we celebrate ResCare Community Living Site Supervisor Cynthia Longoria, who has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Harlingen, TX.
Cynthia is a recipient of the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR) 2023 DSP of the Year Award. She is empathetic and respectful in helping individuals realize their wants and needs, while promoting a sense of self-determination and independence.
Cynthia understands that the individuals she supports function best in a structured environment, yet recognizes the importance of personal choice in working toward their goals. While encouraging individuals to do as much for themselves as they can, she maintains attention to their health and well-being and ensures everyone involved is kept updated.
Cynthia has been with ResCare for 32 years, dedicating herself to the people she supports. She maintains open lines of communication between individuals and their family members by assisting with visits or using technology such as FaceTime. Within each home, she consistently facilitates interaction, creating a family-like atmosphere.
