Community Living Executive Director Marietta White is Working Smart and Doing Good in Valdosta, Georgia. Marietta is the winner of the 2022 Community Living People Award.
Each day, Marietta embodies a people-focused Environment at her agency. Despite a year with national staffing challenges, Marietta’s turnover rate was below the divisional average and she maintained a higher-than-average employment stability rate. This retention was achieved by focusing on the culture of her operation and making sure her team members know how important they are by celebrating their accomplishments. She even created an internal employee recognition system to ensure her agency was fully utilizing existing LEGACY and STARS recognition resources. Her process was then shared as a model of best practices across the division.
“Marietta leads her team by doing the right thing at all times and truly instilling the mission of helping our clients live their very best lives,” shared Community Living Senior Director of Human Resources Heather Barth. “She is unwavering in this directive and her caring demeanor and mission-oriented Attitude are contagious.”
