ResCare Community Living Direct Support Professional Misty Goins has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Canton, OH.
Misty has built relationships with each individual as well as their families and guardians. She takes the time to get to know every person and what makes them happy.
One of Misty’s clients enjoys spending time alone. Misty will take the other individual in the home to spend time with his friends or go on outings so the client can have that time to himself.
She took another client on a weekend trip to an indoor waterpark at their request. Everything was planned and set prior to the trip, but when they arrived, they learned there had been an issue with the payment. Without hesitation, Misty paid for the trip on the spot so the client could still enjoy her weekend and have the experience she had looked forward to. When they returned, Misty ensured the problems encountered were resolved in a timely manner and was reimbursed.
With more than 17 years of experience with ResCare, Misty understands that every individual is different and that she needs to take a person-centered approach to gaining the trust and respect of all those she supports. She takes pride in her role, developing rapport with staff and doing whatever she can to ensure all clients receive high-quality care.
