Springhill Home Health and Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Kim Smith has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Mobile, AL.
Kim plays an important role in the Annual Memorial Service at Springhill. In 2021, she began an ornament making memorial, which allows the bereaved to commemorate their loved ones while still practicing social distancing. Vice President of Business Development Shellee Blaxton says, “The love that is shared in this memorial is truly beyond words.”
Kim’s dedication to this special event does not end with the planning. Shellee says that after the holidays, “Kim packs each ornament up with a letter to the family and mails what they made or brought back to them.” She also sends each family home with a cardinal ornament in remembrance of their loved one. Kim demonstrates respect for the families and does all that she can with this memorial to support them through the holiday season.
