Congratulations to BrightSpring’s VP of Procurement Melissa Price who was named a Business Women First Enterprising Women honoree by Louisville Business First.
Business Women First honors professional women who are making a difference in business and in the community. Candidates are selected for their leadership, community and civic engagement, business management, mentoring, volunteerism, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
Excerpt from Melissa’s profile in publication:
What is your most memorable, career-defining moment?
“I remember finding my perfect job. After years in business development, I transitioned to procurement. This move was life-changing for me. I couldn’t believe I was getting paid to do what I loved so much.”
“I challenge everyone in their career to find their perfect job. As a leader, I try to match my team with their strengths and what they really enjoy doing.”
What advice do you have for women seeking to jumpstart their careers or attain higher leadership positions?
“I have achieved success by working hard and monitoring my progress. I was raised on a 110-acre farm, where we had long hours and early mornings. I still work with the same dedication today. My first manager showed me how valuable it is to track goals.”
“I suggest young professionals set realistic goals for both the short-term and long-term. Review your goals every month, continuously learn, constantly improve your skills and find a great support team.”
