Community and Rehab Care - Community Living / June 13, 2025
The Community Living operation in North Carolina has earned re-accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services.
The three-year re-accreditation focuses on an organization’s ongoing commitment to quality improvement and demonstrating conformance to CARF standards in services areas and business practices.
North Carolina CARF Re-Accreditation Report Highlights:
- The organization has a long history of providing an array of services for adults and children throughout North Carolina. The leadership, including the community living director and executive directors for each of the operations areas, works closely as a team to ensure that quality person-centered services are a priority throughout the state. Regular virtual and face-to-face meetings keep the team connected and moving forward on goals and priorities. It was noted that many members of the leadership team have significant tenure with the organization and have a strong commitment to its mission, vision, and values.
- All programs, homes, and offices visited were found to be in excellent condition. They were modern, well maintained, and in excellent condition, with furnishings and wall decorations to suit the individuals’ preferences. The organization as a whole demonstrates top-notch services, documentation, planning, and, most of all, sincere involvement with the individuals served. Interactions between staff and individuals served were evidenced as enjoyable and pleasant.
- Family members and guardians expressed great satisfaction with the services provided by the organization. They described the staff members as responsive, passionate, and consistently going above and beyond. The term “life changing” was used by more than one family to describe the supports their family member receives.
Some of our Community Living locations in North Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee have also attained CARF accreditation.
