BrightSpring Celebrates 2021 Florida ARF Award Winners

BrightSpring is proud to announce that four employees have received awards from the Florida Association of Rehabilitation Facilities (ARF).

ResCare Community Living Residential Manager Susan Kaminski was named Legislative Advocate of the Year and All Ways Caring HomeCare’s Heather Loucks, Freddie Elkins, and Marie Morrison were each recognized with a 2021 Circle of Champions Award.

The awards honor individuals for special contributions, commitments, and continuing service to people with disabilities. The Legislative Advocate of the Year Award is presented annually to an individual whose dedication and advocacy efforts have resulted in improvements to the developmental services system and the people it serves. The Circle of Champions Awards is given to individuals who have displayed the highest commitment to professional growth in their positions.

Legislative Advocate of the Year

Susan Kaminski, Residential Manager, ResCare Florida

Susan lives every day in absolute dedication to advocating for meaningful changes in the lives of individuals with disabilities. She has served as a fervent advocate for Floridians with disabilities for over 20 years by shaking and moving the system in every way possible that will result in positive change, whether within her agency, the medical community or local government.

Susan is well known by several medical professionals throughout the community due to her reputation as an exemplary advocate for disabled individuals. This has resulted in many disabled persons receiving both top-quality and stable medical treatment for many years. The residents at her agency are known on a first-name basis with their medical providers who understand their unique needs. She constantly encourages these medical professionals to publicly speak up and advocate for meaningful change. This is the exact type of change from within action Florida’s disabled citizens need.

Susan takes every opportunity available to publicly stand for meaningful change. She has a lengthy record of sending letters, making phone calls and sending emails to public officials at every level of government. She truly represents this award through her actions and passion for making meaningful change in the lives of Florida’s citizens with disabilities.

Circle of Champions Award Winners

Heather Loucks, Certified Nursing Assistant, All Ways Caring HomeCare

Heather is a caring professional who is indispensable to her clients. She is an outstanding caregiver and her commitment to those she serves is remarkable. She takes a positive, can‐do approach each and every day and demonstrates responsibility, integrity, and excellence. She adapts to her clients’ individual needs and personalities while providing consistent and compassionate care.

Heather’s love for what she does shows, and she is truly adored by each one of her clients and their families. She demonstrates responsibility and integrity in her relationships with her clients and with the office staff.

Freddie Elkins, Home Health Aide, All Ways Caring Home Care

Freddie goes above and beyond in caring for his clients. He demonstrates compassion and reliability with a caring heart. while meeting his client’s needs per their individual care plan. He engages with his clients through conversation and activities to learn more about them and asks questions about their home life and their support system so he can better meet their needs.

Freddie makes sure his client’s well-being and care remains a top priority.

Marie Morrison, Home Health Aide, All Ways Caring HomeCare

Marie is kind, compassionate, and works to promote her clients’ independence. She encourages her clients to live as independently as possible and helps them reach their goals.

Marie takes the time to get to know her clients on a deeper level and develops authentic relationships with them by respecting them and their needs and creating a positive environment. Everything she does for her clients is for their wellbeing and to help them reach their goals. She earns the respect and friendship of each of her clients and helps them to get through day-to-day life happily, healthily, and as independently as possible.
