BrightSpring Health Services, one of the nation’s largest home and community-based health services providers to complex populations, introduced Susan Sender as its new chief clinical officer and announced the appointment of Rachael Kurzer Givens to chief compliance officer.
Sender joins BrightSpring with an esteemed career as a clinical leader in healthcare and is known for her expertise in establishing clinical standards and oversight of regulatory compliance, professional development, ensuring accurate reimbursement and policy development. Sender most recently served as senior vice president and chief clinical officer for Amedisys Home Health Care and Hospice. Before that, she served in the same capacity for Kindred at Home and at Gentiva. For BrightSpring, Sender will play a vital role in aligning care guidelines and objectives across the organization and providing oversight for service line program support and strategic planning. She will be responsible for continued progress in client and patient outcomes, engaging staff members, championing quality and clinical innovation, fostering nursing and clinical effectiveness, and advancing the company’s culture of care.
As chief compliance officer, Givens will be responsible for overseeing all compliance practices and efforts, including defining and supporting internal policies and procedures to assure that the company is compliant with all local, state, federal and third-party laws and regulations. She will also play a pivotal role with managing audits and investigations in regulatory and compliance issues, in addition to acknowledging information requests from regulatory organizations. Givens has served in multiple leadership roles for the company and has been a part of BrightSpring’s quality and regulatory compliance team for more than 20 years.
