PharMerica Team Members Go Above and Beyond During Power Outage

Recently, a PharMerica pharmacy in Warren, Michigan, lost power during a storm, and restoration wasn’t expected until later that evening.

Seemingly unphased by the news, Pharmacy Manager Renu John and Pharmacist Brent Darling went above and beyond to ensure all orders would still go out in a timely manner. They both went back and forth from their homes to the pharmacy, gathering materials that allowed the pharmacy to operate on a generator.

They quickly lined the freezer and refrigerator with ice packs to guarantee all medications maintained proper storage conditions. They also kept everyone in the know by informing facilities of the situation, which could have resulted in major delays.

At the end of the day, they were able to get all orders out with only a two-hour delay.

“Brent and Renu went above and beyond to take care of our customers and patient’s needs,” Pharmacy Director Daxesh Patelsaid. “They are a great asset to our team!”
