All Ways Caring HomeCare (AWC) Caregiver Gary Whitledge has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Toccoa, GA.
Gary started his career with AWC in fall 2023 as an active-duty US Army Sergeant First Class processing into retirement. While he did not have prior experience in caregiving, he heard about the services AWC provides to veterans and joined the Personal Care Aide (PCA) program.
Gary says that his experience in the military showed him tragedy, but being a PCA has shown him purpose. In 2024, one of the veterans he cares for experienced significant damage from Hurricane Helene. Gary jumped into action, helping this client and their family get their property back in order.
Throughout his tenure, Gary has turned several complicated cases into stories of joy and success. As a result of his high standards and can-do attitude, Gary was hand-picked by the branch manager to be an ambassador for AWC during local veteran events as well as a trainer and preceptor for the PCA program. His philosophy in training is to teach empathy, understanding, and grace.
Thank you, Gary. You set an example through your compassion for others and willingness to lend a hand. Your continued efforts to further education for both yourself and your coworkers ensures your operation can help people live their best lives.
WORK SMART. DO GOOD.
