CompassionCare Hospice – Julie McIntosh

The Way We Lead / December 8, 2022

Director of Education and Community Relations Julie McIntosh and her team at CompassionCare Hospice are Working Smart and Doing Good in Las Vegas. Recently, they honored and recognized over 250 Veterans during their Veterans Day celebrations.

Their team hosted several events to honor Veterans at assisted living communities throughout the Las Vegas area. They provided snacks and other festivities, including presenting Veterans with certificates of appreciation, pins, Stars 4 Our Troops, and flags.

Julie’s team had over 50 people in attendance at their second annual community-wide Veteran appreciation event hosted at a local YMCA. This event was open to the public and included several Veteran organizations. There was a live performance from the American Legion Color Guard, and 30 veterans were awarded a “Quilt of Valor.”

These were just their Veteran Day Week activities. They have also done 50+ private ceremonies for their patients and families over the last two years. They participate in Nevada’s Hospice Veteran Partnership (HVP) where Julie serves on the Board as the Education Chair. As a group, they host multiple community-based activities throughout the year, including a holiday donation drive and party for Veterans, a Valentine’s Day drive for Veterans in care, a Vietnam Veterans Day appreciation event, and a military spouse appreciation event. “We do our best to make sure all Veterans in our community receive the honor they deserve,” says Julie.

Congratulations, Julie, for your dedication to fostering a people-focused Environment!

WORK SMART. DO GOOD.
