ResCare Community Living QIDP Angela Asuncion has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Centralia, IL.
One individual that Angela works with, Hannah, is known for her creativity and self-expression through artwork. Sketches and paintings provide Hannah with a nonverbal platform to express herself and enrich her quality of life, often acting as a reflection of her feelings. With Angela’s support, Hannah entered the Kankakee County Training Center art contest this past spring and was awarded first place over more than thirty other entries.
Hannah says that she dives into her art as a way to manage her emotions and find momentary escape. Combined with the encouragement of staff members like Angela, this practice allows Hannah to enhance her skills while working toward other goals. She hopes to continue her art and one day become a fashion designer working in Paris Fashion Week.
