ResCare Community Living – Jon Gibson

The Way We Lead / February 5, 2026

ResCare Community Living Site Supervisor Jon Gibson has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Lincoln, NE.

One of the clients Jon supports is legally blind, wears full leg braces, and uses a wheelchair. This individual was also recently diagnosed with lymphedema in both legs. They have always been highly independent, but the diagnosis created new challenges with mobility and care. Jon immediately stepped in, advocating for additional staff support and researching adaptive equipment to help maintain the client’s independence while preserving their dignity and respect. He attends every medical appointment, ensuring that the client’s voice is heard and that all of their needs are met.

Program Manager Jackie Bauersachs says, “Jon’s ability to adapt care to client needs is also evident in his work with one resident who previously experienced frequent verbal outbursts. He proactively found strategies to help like taking him on walks and car rides and encouraging phone calls with people he trusts. These thoughtful, consistent supports have significantly reduced the number of outbursts and improved the client’s overall well-being.”

Jon, You are an example to everyone, demonstrating compassion and commitment to your role and making a positive impact on those you support. Thank you for all that you do to help others live their best lives.

WORK SMART. DO GOOD.
