ResCare Community Living Direct Support Lead Wanda Brown has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Jeffersonville, IN.
Wanda works at the Bent Grass waiver home in the New Albany, IN, Community Living operation. She has been a ResCare employee for three and a half years and has the highest level of dedication to both her job and the individuals she serves.
Wanda is focused on promoting clients’ community integration. She has empowered her clients to work towards independence and fulfillment in their communities. Wanda has gone above and beyond helping her clients thrive, including guiding them through job applications, interview preparation, and providing any other help needed to ensure success as they transition into community-based employment.
New Albany Executive Director Amy Kelley says, “Wanda worked diligently with one of the individuals to fulfill his dream of getting a community-based job. He couldn’t stop telling his interdisciplinary team (IDT) about how proud he was of getting his job and that he couldn’t have done it without Wanda’s guidance and support.”
Wanda’s compassion shines through in every aspect of her work as she creates joy-filled moments by encouraging holiday decorating, fostering community spirit, and supporting participation in the Special Olympics.
