StepStone Family & Youth Services – Angie Huerta

The Way We Lead / January 9, 2024

StepStone Family & Youth Services Recruitment Coordinator Angie Huerta has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Mesa, AZ.

Since joining StepStone in 2022, Angie has worked to increase the number of partner agencies and events to recruit families. She has collaborated with several companies and churches to hold holiday toy drives, providing Christmas toys to children and adults in foster care or developmental homes.

She also makes sure to find events that are appropriate to promote becoming a foster parent or developmental home provider. This has resulted in StepStone licensing the first child developmental home in Northern Arizona, expanding their services to care for children with developmental disabilities.

Angie will walk families through the paperwork question by question in order to make sure it is filled out correctly. If families are not able to be licensed, Angie will offer other options such as respite to keep them engaged until the time that they can be licensed. Outside her region, Angie continues to assist families by providing training and home visits in Spanish when needed. She is a team player and always willing to do what she can to support the agency, families, and placements.

Angie, you know how to Get Going and use your experience to continually find new means of supporting others. Thank you for your continued focus on the people you serve and for always helping them to live their best lives.

WORK SMART. DO GOOD.
