This week is ANCOR’s Direct Support Professional (DSP) Recognition Week, but BrightSpring Health Services is celebrating throughout the month of September.
Today, BrightSpring Health Services kick-starts its celebration by recognizing Tawana Hawkins, a direct support lead in Texas. Tawana has gone above and beyond for the individuals she serves, helping them do well at the Houston Food Bank.
After seeing how much the individuals enjoyed previous volunteer events at the food bank, Tawana set up regular volunteer hours for them every week. She transports and assists more than a dozen individuals as they volunteer there, sorting food for those in need.
“Tawana is very positive and always has a big smile,” said Jennifer Smith, executive director for Houston. “She is a natural at leading activities for our clients.”
Thank you, Tawana, for being a servant leader and showing the individuals you serve what it means to do good in your community.
