Providing Thought Leadership / October 8, 2018

BrightSpring Health Services, one the nation’s largest home and community-based health services providers, recently honored Sharon Cook, its longest-tenured caregiver, for 39 years of service and dedication to the organization’s mission to help people live their best lives.

The company celebrated Sharon as its longest-tenured caregiver out of its 35,000-caregiver workforce during the month of September as part of The American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR) caregiver celebration. Sharon was invited to BrightSpring’s corporate headquarters and honored with a day of appreciation. She was invited to have lunch with the company’s top leadership. After lunch, she was invited to a party attended by the company’s 500 corporate employees to celebrate her accomplishment for the company’s Community Living Services line of business that provides support to individuals who need assistance with daily living due to an intellectual, developmental or cognitive disability. Many of the individuals under her care have been with her for nearly 39 years.

Cook received a prestigious new award, the BrightSpring Health Services “Summit Award.” She is the first person to receive the new award that is given only to employees who exemplify the organization’s LEGACY values for extraordinary work or service.

“Sharon leaves a lasting impression and a lifelong legacy,” said Sonny Terrill, chief of human resources. “Through her selfless dedication and commitment to creating the very best environment for people in need of assistance, we celebrate her servant-leadership and amazing attentiveness to the people she supports, many of whom have a relationship that spans more than 30 years. We are so proud of the example Sharon sets for others who care for people, and we are always looking for employees who have the kind of passion she has for others.”
