Tomorrow, July 25, we recognize National Hire a Veteran Day. All Ways Caring HomeCare Executive Director Monique Hicks, a military veteran, has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Opelousas, LA.
During the Gulf War in the early 1990s, Monique served two jobs in the military. She began as a postal clerk at the largest military post office in Seoul, South Korea, before joining the Criminal Investigation Division in Fort Jackson, SC. Monique believes that her military experience prepared her for her career at All Ways Caring, as it taught her to pay attention to both the details and overall quality of her work. She says, “To this day, I still use investigative techniques I learned from working with the agents.”
After her military service, Monique joined the All Ways Caring team in 2009. Since then, she has consistently used skills she acquired in the military such as direct focus, investigative skills, and attention to detail to maintain a high standard of quality at all Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Mississippi operations. Monique won the 2023 Leader of the Year Award for the East division of All Ways Caring because of this dedication to using her talents and abilities to better support those around her.
