As we continue celebrating Direct Support Professional (DSP) Recognition Week, we’d like to recognize Community Living DSP Ana Ramirez for Working Smart and Doing Good in Clearwater, Florida. Ana was recently selected by the Florida Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (FADSP) and the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) as a DSP Making a Difference.
During her 15 years at ResCare, Ana has a well-established history of assisting the people she serves with accessing opportunities and resources in the community. She encourages her clients to pursue their cultural interests and religious beliefs. Years ago, many of the group home residents stated how important attending church was to them. Ana Got Going! and began taking those interested to weekly services. Now, several individuals in the home enjoy regularly attending church and being members of its community.
“Ana is a fierce advocate for her clients,” said Executive Director Michael Karaphillis. “Every decision she makes is based on their best interests. I am very proud of Ana and the wonderful things she does for our clients!”
