ResCare Community Living Site Supervisor Angela Sovine has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Saginaw, MI.
Angela won the 2024 ANCOR DSP of the Year Award for Michigan. She promotes the independence of each individual, helps clients set attainable goals, and ensures their choices are considered within their care plans.
Angela helps clients identify and nurture important relationships in their lives, particularly with family. She supports them in maintaining regular contact with relatives, including through invitations to program parties. During the holidays, Angela organizes craft times for her clients so they can make cards to send to their families.
Angela leads by example and focuses on quality in her operation. If she notices a staff member is struggling, she will meet with them to provide personalized coaching and encouragement. She is invested in providing a high quality of care to everyone her team supports, regularly reminding staff to do what is right, not what is easy.
