ResCare Community Living Direct Support Professional Barbara Sykes has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Indianapolis, IN.
Barbara is a winner of the 2023 ANCOR DSP of the Year Award for Indiana. She has the respect and admiration of the individuals and providers she serves. Barbara advocates for her clients to build positive relationships with their loved ones, while also assisting them in building relationships within their community and gaining a sense of independence.
Barbara creates a family-like environment and the people she supports will often look to her for guidance. She will always do what is necessary to ensure the health and safety of each individual. Recently, Barbara helped transition one of her clients to another waiver home. She worked with each staff member, manager, and leader involved, thoroughly training them on this person’s plan for a successful transition.
