ResCare Community Living Direct Support Professional Jayne Romanosky has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Tacoma, WA.
Jayne independently takes on mentoring new staff in the home, ensures all documentation is completed daily, and follows up on outstanding details from other shifts. She has a significant role within the household with both clients and staff looking to her for guidance, assistance, and friendship.
One new client in Jayne’s home experienced behavioral difficulties while adjusting to her new environment. Jayne built a relationship with this individual, advocating for her to have a medication evaluation, taking her to necessary appointments, and following through with provider recommendations. Jayne’s targeted focus on this client’s success has led to her happily settling into the home. She looks forward to spending time with Jayne and they regularly visit with new friends in the community.
Jayne fosters her own bonds with clients while assisting them in developing and maintaining other relationships with family and friends. Throughout the year, Jayne creates cards with the individuals to recognize family birthdays, holidays, or special events. The clients love this activity and the recipients are always appreciative of the homemade cards.
