ResCare Community Living Site Supervisor Loretta Jones has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Jennings, LA.
Loretta won the 2024 Enterprise LEGACY of Care Caregiver of the Year Award and was recognized by the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR) as a 2024 Direct Support Professional (DSP) of the Year Honorable Mention.
Throughout her 35-year career, Loretta has worked in several group homes as a direct support worker, home manager, and an area supervisor. She prefers roles that allow her to spend more time with the clients and provide care directly.
Loretta shows compassion for all clients within the operation. After a hurricane struck a nearby area and multiple individuals were temporarily relocated to another state, Loretta volunteered to pick them up and drive them back to their homes so they could have comfort in a familiar environment.
Loretta seeks out different ways to enrich the lives of her individuals, both within the home and out in the community. She regularly organizes themed parties, takes clients to dances, helps them participate in local bowling teams, and gathers clients from several area homes to go caroling at local nursing homes during the holidays. Once, Loretta also helped oversee a mobile lawn crew that enabled clients to go out and mow yards.
