Community Living Executive Director Michelle Payne is Working Smart and Doing Good in the San Louis Obispo, California. Michelle is the winner of the 2022 Community Living Executive Director of the Year Award.
Last year, Michelle’s Leadership played a key role in the successful opening of Desert Willow, a specialized home for individuals with significant behavioral challenges. She worked hand-in-hand with developing the program design and navigating the first-time Audit Approval process. The five individuals now living at Desert Willow recently transitioned out of psychiatric facilities and the positive impact the home has had on their lives is clear to everyone.
“Michelle demonstrated exceptional skill, knowledge, excellence, and deep command of her business through high levels of independent leadership,” praised Community Living West and Process Excellence Vice President Les Parker. “She worked through some of the toughest challenges faced in our division last year and truly is a remarkable leader who leads by example.”
