ResCare Community Living Human Resources Generalist Shelia Thompson has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Valdosta, GA.
Shelia was honored with the Glass Award after celebrating 30 years of service with with ResCare Community Living in 2022. Executive Director Marietta White says, “Shelia is steadfast, professional, and devoted to keeping the team grounded and motivated.” Shelia’s inventive ways to both recruit and retain employees have aided in the operation’s successes.
Shelia’s commitment to her team and clients is noted by many. Regional HR Manager Kimberly Anderson says, “She is a team player. Shelia never takes all the credit, and she makes sure to allow each member of her team a voice to express their visions.” She developed her own motto to “Make Work Fun.” She works to build morale by creating a monthly theme night for Direct Support Professionals to have fun and celebrate with the clients in their homes. Some of these themes have included March Madness, Mardi Gras, Pajama Party, and Spring Fling.
Shelia, thank you for your dedication to your team, clients, staff, and all those you meet along the way. Your more than 30 years of service to ResCare is recognized and appreciated. The commitment you have to a people-focused Environment helps others to live their best lives.
