ResCare Community Living Site Supervisor Sylvia Garza has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Corpus Christi, TX.
Prior to joining ResCare, Sylvia was a business owner for several years. After retiring, she wanted to start a new endeavor and decided to become a caregiver. She has now been a part of Community Living for nine years and was promoted to House Lead and then Site Supervisor because of her consistent commitment and leadership.
Sylvia understands the value of community interactions, and helps her clients to have these experiences in ways that are both safe and fun. She accompanies them on outings where they can meet new people, including going out to eat, shopping, or to yard sales on Saturdays.
In the home, Sylvia helps each individual express themselves by decorating their own bedrooms based on their interests. She is always available to provide quality support to her clients, and she trains new staff with the goal of being just as effective.
