ResCare Community Living Area Supervisor Yolanda Polk has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Jeanereatte, LA.
Yolanda won the 2024 ANCOR DSP of the Year Award for Louisiana. She wants her clients to have the best quality of life possible and enjoys interacting with them, saying their smiling faces bring her joy. If a client is upset, Yolanda works with them to determine the cause and identify a solution.
The individuals Yolanda supports have become her family, and she treats them all that way. She says, “I want all my clients and everyone with a disability to be treated with love. I love my clients as if they are my family members.”
Known to most clients as “Momma,” Yolanda has fostered a special relationship with each person. When she arrives at the homes, their faces light up. She listens when they want to talk, vent, or even sing to her, and she will sing along with them.
Yolanda is an exceptional leader. She sets high expectations for her team and holds them to company standards. She ensures the homes have the necessary items to complete active treatment, works with the on-site nurses on monthly staff training, and has put training materials together to provide staff with everything they need.
Congratulations, Yolanda! You create a people-focused Environment, showing dedication to your clients and putting the needs of others above your own. Your compassion and care are noticed by those around you and are integral in helping others live their best lives.
