All Ways Caring Direct Support Professional (DSP) Wanda Renee Newkirk has been Working Smart and Doing Good in her community. Recently honored with an ANCOR Award, Renee’s work reflects BrightSpring’s LEGACY value of Leadership, shown in the way she supports individuals with patience, encouragement, and a belief in their potential.

Renee takes the time to truly understand the people she serves. When one individual shared a goal of learning to manage money independently, Renee noticed the challenge went deeper than counting bills. She began setting aside time each day to practice number recognition and simple math together. With steady encouragement and small daily wins, the individual began gaining confidence, moving closer to handling purchases on their own.

She also helped another person who longed for friendship but struggled to connect with others. After learning about her love of coffee, Renee suggested a weekly visit to a local café. What began as a quiet outing has grown into something meaningful. Staff and regular patrons now greet her by name, and she looks forward to the conversations and sense of belonging those visits bring.
