When a patient already mid-course on a specialty infusion was referred to Amerita for continued care, Helena took the case and stayed with it. The plan was to start care in the patient’s home state, but the patient was leaving for college across the country. Rather than let the handoff become a gap, Helena coordinated continuation of care across a chain of partners — the new servicing branch, sales colleagues in the destination state, the patient’s parents working to identify a local physician, and the patient’s college clinic, where Amerita’s nursing team ultimately delivered the infusion. It took a long stretch of phone calls and follow-up to keep every party aligned. The infusion went well, and the college clinic asked Amerita to come back for the next one.

I take what I do with the thought that if this was my family or myself, how would I want them to feel and be treated. To know that I’m giving every patient 100% and more keeps me going every day, said Helena.
