The Singing Chef of the Comfort Care Center in Little Rock
Hospice Home Care
Hospice Home Care’s Adrian Williams has been Working Smart and Doing Good at the Comfort Care Center in Little Rock, AR. Known throughout the inpatient unit as the “singing chef,” Adrian reflects BrightSpring’s LEGACY value of Environment, creating a place where patients, families, and staff feel cared for through music, food, and an unmistakable spirit of love.
In his nine months at the Comfort Care Center, Adrian has become a presence that everyone — patients, families, and colleagues — counts on. He brings 25 years of culinary experience to the kitchen, learned from his father and now shared with his son, and turns ordinary days into something memorable through meals, holiday cookouts, and decorations he plans all himself.
He sings in the kitchen. He walks into patients’ rooms with a song. He greets everyone with a smile and takes the time to truly connect, living out what hospice care is about: ask, affirm, care, and connect. At Christmas, he dressed up as Santa Claus and went room to room with the team, singing carols.
“Recently, we had a patient who had been with us for two and a half years and was nearing the time to go home to be with Jesus. Adrian, Kimberly, and I went into the room and sang an old hymn with the patient and their family. As we finished, Adrian sang a special song. It was such a meaningful moment. Later, the patient’s daughter came to me and said how much it meant to them and told me to have the ‘singing chef’ come back anytime to sing again,” said Sharen DeWitt, Community Liaison.
For families navigating one of the tenderest times in life, Adrian’s songs have a way of bringing smiles, stirring memories, and creating a sense of peace that words alone cannot. For staff, he is the colleague who lifts the room on the hard days — always finding a way to care for others, whether through music, a meal, or a moment of attention. The Comfort Care Center is the kind of place it is in part because Adrian is in it.
Congratulations, Adrian. The Environment you help create — through every song, every meal, and every act of kindness — turns the Comfort Care Center into a place where patients, families, and staff feel truly loved.
Work Smart. Do Good
